Greg Todd [00:00:00]:
If you're on a replay comment replay, so that I can know when you're listening. Okay? Now I want to thank you so much for your attention, blah, blah, blah. Okay, great. All right, so now I'm talking. I'm talking about whatever thing I'm going to talk about today. And I'll tell people, if that's you, I want you to comment this below. That's a call to action. If this is you, if this message is talking to you, I want you to comment this below.
Greg Todd [00:00:20]:
When I do that, I'm getting people, I'm getting real time feedback to know if my message is resonating with people or nothing. But I'm also training myself to be a decision maker for people. I'm training myself to be able to do call to actions. I'm also training my audience to want to take advice from me. Okay? And so if you don't do that, you will never put yourself in a position to where you have any value except for you actually doing things on people. This is secrets for success. Welcome to the Secrets for Success podcast. I'm your host, Greg Todd.
Greg Todd [00:01:04]:
Thank you, as always, for joining me, my friends. Okay, so I want to talk about the power of the action. I want to talk about the power of the call to action in today's episode. I want to talk about the sins of the father in healthcare. And I hope this helps you in many ways. So I have a platinum mastermind call that I do twice a month, okay? It's about 45, 50 am or something like that. Members that are in our platinum mastermind community, and I give them twice a month where they can basically do office hours with me, ask me whatever questions. And there was a question that came up on a recent call that was a great question.
Greg Todd [00:01:44]:
And I think a lot of people struggle with this, and I think you probably struggle with this as well. And that is that this student said that they really struggle in their content with giving calls to action. And I think that maybe they're uncomfortable with, or maybe they think that call to action always has to be selling something. And one of the things I explained to the student I'm going to explain to you right now as you listen to the podcast, and that is the following. I'm assuming you are listening to this podcast because you want to strap exclusively trading time for money. Is that correct? Okay. I wish there was a chat or something where you can say, heck yeah, that's me, baby. Okay.
Greg Todd [00:02:27]:
So if you want to stop trading time for money, you must understand a couple things. Number one, is that you have been trained your entire life to trade all of your time for money. You've been trained your entire life to listen to someone else, not to be someone that people listen to. Okay? Think of every single thing that you learned in school. Was there anything that you learned that did not train you to be able to hear the bell? Go to another class that had nothing to do with the class before. Basically make you move from one subject to one subject, to one subject to one subject, spend 45 to 60 minutes in that subject, work on, I'm not gonna say totally meaningless, but you know what I mean? You're not using any of that stuff right now, are you? Okay? And go from class to class to class to class. And then when you finished your schooling and you went to a higher level schooling, you were taught how to do things for other people. You were never taught to make decisions for others.
Greg Todd [00:03:33]:
And in this world, if you're nothing, an athlete, if you're not an actor or an actress, the way you make money, not trading your time for money, is by making decisions for other people, creating solutions for other people, bringing value to other people. And that can't happen if you are not training yourself to be a decision maker. So I said this to that student because I said that call to actions don't have to be, like, buying anything. Call to actions, just telling people, listen, I feel so strongly about this. This is what I want you to do. Like, this is what I want you to do right now. So in my success community, by the way, if you're not a part of the success community that say that fast, sent out again, if you're not part of the success community, then go to SSHcc, community.com, okay? Go on Facebook, pull in success community for healthcare professionals. Be a part of the community.
Greg Todd [00:04:32]:
But I go live usually three times a week, okay? And in my live videos, I have trained myself. I've trained myself to do this. I've trained myself to tell people, this is what I want you to do. So I'll do the video and I'll be like, hey, everybody, what's up? Good morning. We're going to talk about this, this, this. If you are live, go ahead and comment live. It's a call to action. Comment live.
Greg Todd [00:04:52]:
If you're on a replay comment. Replay so that I can know when you're listening. Okay? Now, I want to thank you so much for your attention, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay, great. All right, so now I'm talking. I'm talking about whatever thing I'm going to talk about today. And I'll tell people, if that's you, I want you to comment this below. That's a call to action.
Greg Todd [00:05:09]:
If this is you, if this message is talking to you, I want you to comment this below. When I do that, I'm getting people, I'm getting real time feedback to know if my message is resonating with people or not. But I'm also training myself to be a decision maker for people, training myself to be able to do call to actions. I'm also training my audience to want to take advice from me. Okay. And so if you don't do that, you will never put yourself in a position to where you have any value except for you actually doing things on people. Like, I'm even looking at the staff here. They are behaving as consultants.
Greg Todd [00:05:50]:
They're giving advice to our clients. I'm giving advice to our clients. Okay. And when you do that, you don't. It's such a big problem you're solving because you're helping people actually think when they don't want to think in certain areas. You're helping people make decisions when they don't want to make decisions in certain areas. That is one of the highest paid professions that you can have is being a decision maker for other people. Because when you're a decision maker for other people, you're actually creating an emotion of relief.
Greg Todd [00:06:22]:
And when you. When you can create emotion for other people on their behalf, that's when you are able to get paid at a very, very high level. I mean, just think about it. Like, whether it's the Olympics or it's watching football, or it's, you know, watching your favorite show on Netflix or you're going to a movie or what? Or you're seeing Deadpool, Wolverine, or whatever. Okay? It's emotion that makes people want to pay money. And that emotion could be emotion of relief. It could be laughter, it could be joy, it could be anxiousness. It could be like tension.
Greg Todd [00:06:57]:
It could be so many different things. But you must understand the power of that. And if us, just you as a healthcare provider, me as a healthcare provider, if you can't create some type of emotion, and that emotion for many of your clients is relief because of your ability to make decisions for them, what are you doing? Like, what are you doing? You're of very little value. You're competing with everybody else. I don't want to compete with everybody else. So you must harness the skill of decision making. And that skill is harnessed through getting people to do the things you're telling them to do. You must get good at that.
Greg Todd [00:07:42]:
So anyways, that's what I told my client today, okay? On the call that we did. And I think that's so powerful for many of you. You must, must learn how to tell people what it is that you believe they should do, or you will never, ever, ever have value in the marketplace. As someone that can help me with big problems. Now, you can help people with small problems, but you can't help people with big problems. Big problems is when people have to make big decisions, okay? And that's what people are looking for. They want people to make decisions on their behalf. So I hope that helps you.
Greg Todd [00:08:16]:
I hope you start to, whether it's emails or text messages or Instagram videos or Facebook videos or YouTube videos, I hope you start to not just do videos, but you do videos, imploring people to do the thing that you truly believe that's in their best interest for them to do because it's going to make their life better, okay? And if you do that, then they'll start to look at you as an authority. They'll start to take your counsel, and then it's a much higher probability that they will work with you in some capacity because the trust is there. They've already taken your counsel and it's helped them. Okay? If you can't help them, then why should I pay you to help me when you haven't proven that you can help me in the first place? I hope that helps. I hope that serves you. Love you guys. Till next time.
